Airport Meet and Greet Service

Spaceport is a £10m attraction that takes you on a thrilling journey through outer space and explores the concept of space travel. As you walk through the six galleries with various themes, you can interact with the hands on exhibits and various audio visual displays.

If you really want to make a day of it then why not start off by taking the ferry over to Spaceport? You can enjoy a 50 minute River Explorer Cruise on an iconic Mersey Ferry. This will allow you to delve into the River Mersey’s fascinating history and blow away the cobwebs before hitting dry land and starting your space adventure.

Once inside Spaceport you should allow around 2-3 hours to see everything. The Planetarium dome show is 30 minutes long and until 11th May 2014 you can take in the hugely popular ‘Time Travellers’ exhibition; essential for all Doctor Who fans.

Planetarium

The incredible 360 degree planetarium dome show is suitable for all ages and offers a truly immersive experience. The current show is ‘We Are Aliens’ which looks at the evidence for alien life in our galaxy, asking the question ‘Are We Alone?’ Starting with Mars, the show looks at how space exploration seeks to find other forms of life on other planets; and discusses what impact other life forms could have on planet earth.

Time Travellers Exhibition

This exhibition boasts an astonishing array of Doctor Who related exhibits including Cybermen, a replica TARDIS, K9 and scarily life sized Daleks. There are also Dr Who costume characters ranging from the 1970’s to the present day, so all fans will be catered for!

The Observatory

Here you can explore the wonders of the tropical night sky, through the world’s largest robotic telescope. This exhibit was funded by Liverpool John Moores University, Astrophysics Research Institute and the National Schools’ Observatory. It is a really educational experience as you can interact with computer generated imagery using a touch screen ‘POD’ (Personal Observation Deck), allowing you to surf the sky and witness thousands of stars and map out the constellations.
